Subdivision within the town of Mt. Crested Butte is governed by Chapter 18 of the Town Code and is authorized by the Town Charter which is pursuant to Article XX of the Constitution of the State of Colorado.

When considering application for subdivision within the Town of Mt. Crested Butte Chapter 18 should be reviewed in its entirety to ensure compliance with all aspects and requirements for subdivision. Chapter 18 consists of eight Articles which consist of further Divisions, each which address particular aspects of subdivision. These Articles and Divisions are listed below. In addition, all sub-sections, not listed below, should be reviewed prior to submitting an application for subdivision.

Once you have reviewed Chapter 18 and have developed a sketch plan for subdivision, call The Community Development Department to set an appointment to review and discuss your subdivision application with a staff member. At this time you can also address any questions or concerns you  have as they relate to your specific application.
