Some examples of situations that will be posted on this page are:
  • situations where public utilities are affected on a large scale;
  • extreme adverse weather conditions that affect local roads, emergency services, or transportation services;
  • avalanche activity;
  • emergency situations affecting public safety
  • public health emergency situations.

In the event that an emergency situation should occur affecting the upper Gunnison Valley and the town of Mt. Crested Butte, this page will contain:
  • information about the nature of the problem;
  • steps being taken to address the problem;
  • current  situation status, with cumulative chronology;
  • any necessary instructions for the public and community at-large;
  • resources for further information.

During an emergency situation, information will be posted on this page as soon as it becomes available.
If at all  possible, please do not call Town Hall offices to inquire about additional information during the event.
All information will be posted here and jammed phone lines will prevent town personnel from receiving critical information and processing important public service updates.
