The Community Development Department is responsible for administering the Planning functions for the Town of Mt. Crested Butte.

These functions include:
  • Writing long-range plans for development, transportation, area plans and the like.
  • Preparing  application materials for the Planning Commission.
  • Conducting studies and surveys related to future growth issues for the town.
  • Processing applications for annexations, sub-divisions, special use permits and preparing these documents for review by the town Planning Commission.
  • Ensuring compliance with all town code which relates to planning issues.
