Finance Department

Under the direction of the Town Manager and governed by Town Council process, the Finance Officer, Karl Trujillo, is responsible for the coordination and management of town issues such as budget preparation and monitoring; accounts payable, accounts receivable, tax levies, collection, and distribution; capital programs; municipal borrowing; bonds; and audits.

Budgetary Process

Prior to October 15th of every year, the Town Manager and Finance Director submit, to the Town Council, a proposed operating budget for the fiscal year commencing the following January 1st. The operating budget includes proposed expenditures and the means of financing them.

Public hearings are conducted at the Town Hall to obtain citizen comments.

Prior to December 31st the budget is legally enacted through passage of an ordinance.
