Community Housing

Community housing in Mt. Crested Butte is considered an important issue. Allowances for and regulations governing community housing have been adopted and included in the Town Code.

There are two aspects with regard to community housing in Mt. Crested Butte.

One aspect deals with the allocation of community housing and includes issues like deed restriction details, application guidelines, and qualifications for obtaining  community housing. 

The second aspect deals with town-provided community housing and requirements for developers and builders who plan to or are building projects in Mt. Crested Butte. The code requires that for every project built in town there should be a corresponding contribution to community housing units or payment to the community housing fund in lieu of built units.
